Hard Cover Type HCJ is
distiguished by the Boy Scout in long pants and long
sleeve shirt with a garrison cap on and his arms by his
side. The background shows the left side of the
cover in a khaki tan, the right side of the cover in
red, with the words BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA all in capital
letters in black like the title.
HCJ covers are broken into two
variations, both with Type 6 pamphlets as their
contents, but distiguishably differen back covers. Variation 1
has FOLLETT DURO-TUFF BINDING printed on the back cover
with a rounded spine while Variation 2 has a red FDB on
the back cover with a rounded spine. Type HCI and HCJ
look the same (with very minor printing variations on
the front cover, so the back cover, contents and spine
must be used to distinguish their differences. Multiple
shading differences on the cover will be found as well.
Shown below are the known covers
to exist by this author and should not be interpreted as
representing the complete collection. As new titles are
found, and confirmed, they will be added.
